Vaughan Fund

The Elizabeth R. Vaughan Fund was established in 1949 upon the death of Mrs. Vaughan, a lifelong resident of South Berwick. Under the terms of her will, the Town of South Berwick was bequeathed $50,000 to enhance recreation for the youth of South Berwick (with an emphasis on winter recreation). As also stated in the will, however, the Trustees have ultimate discretion to disburse funds as they see fit.

The Trustees of the fund meet occasionally during the year. They annually elect a Chair and Treasurer and review applications for funding requests.
